Due to the lengthy severe winter weather forecast for the next several days Crystal Systems is taking precautions to help minimize disruptions in water service due to freeze. Customers can also take the following steps to help avoid frozen service lines and household plumbing.
1. During periods of sub-freezing temperature allow water to slowly drip from inside faucets. Occasionally run a full stream of water through interior faucets to replenish contained water with warmer water from the main. Water moving through pipes is less likely to freeze.
2. Leave open any cabinets containing plumbing adjacent to outside walls (particularly north facing walls). This allows warmer household air to circulate around the pipes.
3. Cover all outside hose bib faucets and insulate any exposed piping. Properly install heat tape or heat lamps where practical.
Please report any water outages to our Office at 903-592-8509 or email us at cust.svr@crystalsystemstx.com and we will respond as soon as possible. If a prolonged period of sub-freezing temperature persists then we anticipate a high volume of disruption. If household plumbing becomes frozen, you will likely not recover your service until thawing occurs. In the event individual meters or service lines become frozen we will be very limited in our ability to restore service until temperatures moderate. However, it is important that we become aware of any loss of service you may experience. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during these next few days of challenging weather.
